Rustlers Explode for 104 Points in Dominant Victory Over Wyoming All Stars

RIVERTON, WY – The Central Wyoming College Rustlers put on an offensive clinic Saturday afternoon, soaring past the Wyoming All Stars with a commanding 104-44 victory at Rustler Gym. The Rustlers (7-9) displayed relentless scoring across all four quarters, led by a balanced attack and sharp shooting from beyond the arc.

CWC set the tone in the opening period, racking up 29 points and shooting a blistering 80% from the floor. By halftime, the lead had ballooned to 49-14 as the Rustler defense held the All Stars to just six points in the second quarter.

Balanced Attack Leads the Way

Five different Rustlers reached double figures in the scoring column, showcasing the team's depth:

  • Aliyah Newton led all scorers with 16 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field.

  • Lucy Howard contributed 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. 

  • Lexie Kesler provided a spark from deep, netting 12 points on four 3-pointers while distributing 7 assists. 

  • Laura Ring added 12 points on efficient 5-of-7 shooting. 

  • Izabelle Moyes chipped in 11 points off the bench. 

Dominance in Transition and the Paint

The Rustlers utilized their speed and size to overwhelm the visitors. CWC outscored the Wyoming All Stars 48-28 in the paint and capitalized on turnovers to create a 30-6 advantage in points off turnovers. The transition game was equally effective, with CWC recording 28 fast break points compared to just 10 for the All Stars.

CWC's bench play was a significant factor, contributing 43 total points to ensure the pressure remained high throughout the contest.

The Rustlers will begin their slate of Region 9 games on Jan. 14 at 5:30 P.M. vs Casper College in Riverton.
