Tyler Ewell Takes Individual Title as CWC Golf Battles Weather in Sterling

The Central Wyoming College men's and women's golf teams traveled to Northeastern Junior College for a two-day tournament on April 2–3. However, nature had other plans as inclement weather forced officials to cut the event short, leaving Thursday's opening round as the final scoring results for the competition.

Men's Division: Ewell Claims Top Spot

The Rustler men delivered a powerful performance in the single round of play, finishing in 2nd place as a team with a total score of 290 (+2), just four strokes behind Eastern Wyoming College.

The highlight of the tournament belonged to Tyler Ewell, who dominated the field to capture the 1st place individual title. Ewell carded a brilliant 68, finishing at 4-under par. He was joined in the top tier by several teammates who navigated Sky Ranch Golf course effectively:

  • Brodie Dale: Tied for 7th place with an even-par 72.

  • Mason Evans: Also tied for 7th place with an even-par 72.

Women's Division: Consistent Top-Ten Finishes

The CWC women's team also faced a shortened schedule, securing a 2nd place team finish with a total of 353 (+65). The Rustlers demonstrated impressive depth, placing three golfers in the top five of the individual leaderboard:
