CWC Volleyball Triumphs at Home in Regular Season Invitational

The Central Wyoming College Rustlers shone in their recent Central Wyoming College Volleyball Invitational held September 11-13 in Riverton, WY. The Rustlers demonstrated their dominance with impressive wins against both the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans and the McCook Community College Indians, while enduring a narrow defeat to the North Platte Community College Knights.

The Rustlers kicked off the tournament with a resounding 3-0 victory over the Spartans, showcasing effective attacks and resilient defense. Nora Rasmussen led the team with an outstanding 22 kills, supported by stellar contributions from other players including Presley Ryan and Lindsey Stewart. Set scores were 25-7, 25-14, and 25-6. Nora Rasmussen and Presley Ryan also excelled in service, delivering critical aces that kept the Spartans at bay.

In a tightly contested series against the Knights, the Rustlers faced their only setback of the tournament, falling 3-2. Despite the loss, the team displayed commendable performance with significant efforts from Lindsey Stewart, who not only secured 11 kills but also recorded multiple blocks. The sets were keenly contested with scores of 26-24, 26-24, and 25-22.

Concluding the tournament on a high note, the Rustlers overpowered the Indians with a clean 3-0 sweep. Key contributions came from numerous players, including Presley Ryan, who delivered 10 kills and defensive digs, helping to clinch the match with set scores of 25-23, 28-26, and 25-17.

Central Wyoming College Rustlers closed the tournament with collective outstanding performances from several players such as Lindsey Stewart, Rachel Workman, and Laina Whitney in blocks and digs, highlighting their cohesive teamwork and strategic prowess. The Rustlers' consistent and forceful play throughout the tournament indicated a promising season ahead.
