Women's Soccer Bows Out in the NJCAA Region 9 Semifinal

The Central Wyoming College Rustlers faced a tough fixture in the NJCAA Region 9 Semifinal against #1 seed Laramie County Community College on October 25, hosted in Cheyenne, WY. Despite a strong season, the Rustlers' women's soccer team's journey came to a halt as they were defeated 2-0.

From the onset, the Rustlers found themselves under pressure, conceding an early goal to fall behind 1-0 by halftime. The intensity of the match continued into the second half, where Laramie County fortified their lead with a second goal, putting the game just out of reach for Central Wyoming College. Notable goals in the match were scored by Victoria Espinoza and Avery Anderson for Laramie County Community College.

Throughout the match, goalkeepers Madilyn Shillig for the Rustlers and Jenna Feldman for Laramie exhibited outstanding performances. Despite the efforts of the Central Wyoming College team, ultimately, it was Laramie County who emerged victorious, securing their spot in the next round of the competition while concluding the Rustlers season with a final record of 9-6. This loss marks the end of a post-season run for the Rustlers.
