Riverton, WY— In a thrilling regular-season soccer encounter held at Riverton on August 22, the Central Wyoming College Women's Soccer team, the Rustlers, secured a hard-fought victory over the Gillette College Pronghorns, edging them out with a score of 2-1.
The match kicked off with both teams displaying strong defensive skills, resulting in a scoreless tie by halftime, as indicated by the halftime score of CWC 0, Gillette 0. The game intensified in the second half, with Jersee Clapier breaking the deadlock at 77:19. This was followed by a tense period where both teams pushed hard, but it was Clapier again who sealed the deal for the Rustlers with another goal at 87:59, making the final score CWC 2, Gillette College 1. Ailsa Sheppard assisted one of Clapier's goals, contributing significantly to the team's offense, while goalie Madilyn Shillig kept the defense tight to secure the win.
