Rustlers Split Outcomes in Recent Home-Away Conference Stretch

RIVERTON, WY – The Central Wyoming College Rustlers women's basketball team showcased a high-octane offense in a thrilling home victory against Gillette College before falling in a tough road contest at Casper College this week.

Rustlers Surge Late to Topple Gillette College, 92-78

On February 4, the Rustlers hosted Gillette College in a high-scoring affair that saw CWC pull away in the fourth quarter for a 92-78 victory.

The Rustlers' offense was firing on all cylinders, shooting nearly 50% from the field (32-65) and an impressive 45.5% from beyond the arcLaura Ring was the standout performer of the night, delivering a monster double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 10-of-19 from the floor.

Casper College Slows Rustlers in 74-58 Road Loss

CWC traveled to Casper on February 7, where they struggled to find the same offensive rhythm, eventually falling 74-58.

The Rustlers kept pace in the second half, actually outscoring Casper 35-28 across the third and fourth quarters, but a slow start in the first half (trailing 46-23 at the break) proved too much to overcome.

Bella Sika led the Rustlers' effort with a team-high 21 points. Despite the loss, CWC continued to show their range, connecting on ten 3-pointers during the contest.

CWC will travel to Rock Springs this Wednesday to face Western Wyoming, and be back home Saturday, February 14 to host Eastern Wyoming at 2 P.M.
