Central Wyoming College Women's Basketball Embarks on a Promising Season

As the 2025-2026 women's basketball season kicks off, the Central Wyoming College Rustlers, under the guidance of Head Coach Keith Wyatt, are looking to make significant strides. Entering his second season, Coach Wyatt is set on improving the team's record from last season's 7-23 overall and 2-10 in the conference.

The Rustlers' schedule is packed with both challenges and opportunities. October saw them facing multiple teams in scrimmage events across Utah and Colorado, setting the stage for the regular season. Highlights include the upcoming CWC Holiday Classic on December 12-13 in Riverton, WY, and the Sophomore Night event scheduled for February 28, celebrating the contributions of the team's sophomore players.

The loss of key players Natalia Ballin and Esperanza Vergara, who led in scoring last season, is significant. However, the return of Laura Ring, who averaged 11.1 points per game, and Sophie Wilkinson, with 6.8 points per game, is encouraging for the Rustlers. Their experience and skill will be crucial as the team faces a rigorous schedule, including matchups against strong community colleges and the invitational tournaments that are cornerstones of their season. The Rustlers will welcome 9 newcomers to the team this year.

With their home games set in Riverton, WY, the Rustlers are poised to leverage their home-court advantage and the support of the local community to climb the ranks in their conference. Fans and supporters of the Central Wyoming College women's basketball team have a full slate of games to look forward to, with hopes of a turnaround season under Coach Wyatt's leadership.
