Rustlers Conclude Fall Rodeo Season with Impressive Team Performance

The Central Wyoming College Rustlers Rodeo team wrapped up their fall season this past weekend, October 10-12, with a strong showing at the LCCC Rodeo.

"We had seven out of the eight that made it back to the short round practice, and each of them moved up in the average after the short round which shows a lot about this team and their mental toughness," said Coach Schrock. "It was a great team effort, they all took advantage of the stock that they drew and gathered up some points out of the short round."

Several Rustlers delivered standout individual efforts:

  • Foster Krempin had a notable weekend, making it back to the short round in both the Steer Wrestling and Tie Down Roping for the first time this fall. He secured 3rd in Tie Down and 5th in Steer Wrestling.

  • Cole Kreikemeier battled through a tough long round steer in the Steer Wrestling but managed to rally on a good steer in the short round, splitting the short round win and finishing 8th overall in Steer Wrestling.

  • Roanie Kasel had two solid Barrel Racing runs, ultimately ending up just out of the points but was successful in making it back to the short round this fall. She finished the weekend 8th in Barrel Racing.

  • Eian Smith secured a 5th place finish in Barebacks.

  • Chaz Dewey finished 7th in Bareback.

  • Cael Espenschied earned a 4th place finish in Team Roping.

Coach Schrock also noted that Cael is headed into the offseason ranked first in the region with his partner Cam Johnson from Gillette College, while Eian is comfortably in second place in Bareback riding.

"We will spend our off season in the classroom and practice pen preparing for the spring season to start in the middle of March," added Coach Schrock, setting the focus on training and preparation for the return to competition.
