Bio
Central Wyoming College's men's soccer team are pushing into a new phase with the appointment of Marcus Horwood as their Men’s Soccer Head Coach. With a diverse background in soccer both as a player and a coach, Horwood brings a wealth of experience to the Rustlers' program.
Originally from Chesham, England, Marcus Horwood has followed his passion for soccer across continents, transitioning from player to coach. After playing soccer at Central Community College and Briar Cliff University, his professional playing career extended to playing for the Sioux Falls Thunder. During his playing career, he lead his team to the Great Plains Athletic Conference Champions in 2020 and received 5 All-Conference recognitions. He received his Associates degree from Central Community College, and then graduated with a Bachelors in Exercise Physiology, and Masters degree in Leadership Management from Briar Cliff University.
Horwood got his start in coaching as an assistant at Central Community College in 2017. He then moved on to Briar Cliff University, and then worked with both the Diablos Futbol Club and Dakota Valley High School.
Under Horwood’s leadership, the Central Wyoming College Rustlers are expected to refine their tactical approaches and boost their performance in upcoming seasons. His experience and academic background in leadership and physiology are key tools he brings to developing players and strategies.
