Men's Soccer Concludes Their Season in Regional Semifinals Against Otero College

The Central Wyoming College men's soccer team, faced a challenging semifinal in the NJCAA Region 9 tournament against #1 seed Otero College on Saturday, October 25, at the CSU-Pueblo soccer fields. By the end of the game, Otero College emerged victorious with a score of 4-0, concluding the Rustlers' season with a record of 7-8-1.

The game began intensely as both teams sought to establish dominance early on. However, it was Otero College who managed to gain a substantial lead by halftime, scoring two goals against the Rustlers. The halftime score stood at 2-0 in favor of Otero College. Players Manuel Ronaldo Mena and Mohammed Baalbaki were instrumental in securing this lead for Otero College.

The second half saw Otero College extending their lead, with additional goals scored by Marko Stajnko and Prince-Ivan Nginyu, bringing the final score to 4-0. Throughout the match, Stanley Schumann of CWC and Ivan Dorado Madera of Otero College were the goalies, facing significant challenges from opposing strikers.

Despite the loss, the Rustlers showed resilience and spirit throughout the season and the tournament. This semifinal match against a formidable opponent marked the end of their playing season, but also highlighted areas for growth and development for the coming seasons.
