Rustlers Dominate at Home, Secure 75-61 Victory Over Four Winds University

RIVERTON, WY – The Central Wyoming College Rustlers utilized a powerful inside game and a dominant rebounding performance to secure a 75-61 victory over Four Winds University at Rustler Gym on Friday afternoon.

The Rustlers (6-9) established control early, heading into the locker room with a 12-point lead at halftime. While Four Winds University attempted a comeback with a 38-point second half, CWC's consistent offensive output and defensive rebounding ensured the win.

Interior Dominance Key to Victory

The story of the game was told in the paint, where CWC outscored Four Winds by a staggering 44-16 margin. The Rustlers' physical presence was also evident on the glass, as they out-rebounded the visitors 42-29.

  • Daniel Smith led the charge for the Rustlers, delivering a massive double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

  • Camrin Gulley was 1 assist away from registering his first career triple-double, contributing 13 points, 9 assists, and pulling down 10 rebounds.

  • Jordan Peel added 12 points to the winning effort.

Bench and Transition Play

CWC's depth proved vital, as the bench contributed 21 points to help maintain the lead. Connor Davidson was a spark off the wire, scoring 12 points on efficient 5-of-7 shooting in just 22 minutes. The Rustlers also excelled in transition, edging out Four Winds in fast-break points 21-15.

CWC will start their Region 9 conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at home versus Casper College at 7:30 P.M.
