CWC Basketball Split Outcomes in Thanksgiving Tournament Games

In a sequence of closely contested College Basketball games, the Central Wyoming College Rustlers experienced varied results against Otero College and Trinidad State College on November 28 & 29, in Cheyenne, WY.

The first game against Otero College witnessed the Rustlers taking a notable lead from the outset, ending the first half 45-34. Significant contributions came from Julian Ormond with 30 points and Jordan Peel scoring 24 points. The match concluded with a strong win for the Rustlers, 93-74, as they executed a robust defense and sharp offensive plays throughout the four periods.

However, the dynamics shifted in the encounter with Trinidad State College. The Rustlers initially led, closing the first half 40-30. Despite strong efforts and leadership by Jordan Peel who scored 27 points, the final periods saw Trinidad State mount a comeback, overtaking the Rustlers with a final score of 75-73. This loss marked a dramatic close, with intense defense and critical scoring from both teams.

Despite the mixed results, standout performances were noted for Rustlers' top players like Ormond and Peel, along with Tyler Jette and Christian Kranz contributing pivotal points and steals across both games. This season, the Rustlers have a record of 3 wins to 7 losses.

Looking forward, the Rustlers are set to host Utah State Eastern at the Rustler Gymnasium at 7:30 P.M. Riverton, WY, on December 5 for the Winter Classic Presented by Wind River Hotel & Casino.
