Men's Golf Complete Season with Best Ever National Championship Finish
NEWTON, KS – The Central Wyoming College men's golf team wrapped up a historic 2025–26 campaign with an impressive showing at the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship. Competing over four rounds from May 12 to 15 at the challenging Sand Creek Station Golf Course, the Rustlers went head-to-head with the country's elite to secure a 14th place finish out of 20 total teams, which is ten spots better than their finish in the national champiosnhip tournament last year (24th).
Riding a Wave of Momentum
Fresh off winning their first Region 9 Championship in program history, the Rustlers entered the national draw eager to prove they belonged on the big stage. Over the four-day, 72-hole tournament, CWC posted a cumulative team score of 1,242 (+90), carding rounds of 311, 312, 313, and a final-round 306 to cement their spot in the national top fifteen.
Ewell Grabs Top-10 Individual Finish
Sophomore standout Tyler Ewell capped his brilliant All-Conference season with one final masterclass performance. Ewell battled through the demanding tournament conditions to finish in a Tie for 10th Place individually. He finished the week at 9-over par across the four rounds, proving once again to be one of the most resilient competitors in the field.
Freshman Mason Evans also turned in a gritty postseason performance for CWC. Evans bounced back through a highly competitive field to finish in a Tie for 44th place at 18-over par, providing vital card scores to keep the Rustlers within the top tier of the team standings.
