The Central Wyoming College men's golf program reached a historic milestone this past week. While competing at their respective NJCAA District Championships in Colorado and Kansas, the Rustlers solidified their postseason legacy, headlined by the men's team capturing the first Region 9 Championship in program history.

Men's Team: Regional Champions Headed to Nationals

The CWC men traveled to Loveland, Colorado, on April 23–24 to compete in the NJCAA West District Championship at The Olde Course. In a field featuring the top talent, the Rustlers battled to a 2nd place team finish with a three-round total of 875 (+32).

While they finished just shy of the West District title, their performance secured them the NJCAA Region 9 Championship—a historic first for the CWC men's golf program.

Individual Highlights (Men):

  • Tyler Ewell: Continued his dominant season, finishing tied for 7th place overall with a 222 (+6), including a solid 73 in the opening round.

  • Mason Evans: Also finished tied 7th overall (222), providing crucial depth for the team score.

  • Brodie Dale & Houston Dunn: Both secured top finishes as well, placing 11th & 12th  with a total of 225 (+9) & 227 (+11), respectively.

"I'm very proud of how this team has adapted to the adversity they've faced all season," said Head Coach Jacob South. "Their perseverance through it all is very admirable, and they've shown why they'll be one of the top competitors at Nationals in Newton, Kansas in a couple weeks."

Women's Team: Grit in Goodland

The CWC women's squad traveled to Goodland, Kansas, for the Plains District Championship on April 27–28. Facing a challenging course, adverse weather, and stiff competition, the Rustlers finished 5th in the team standings.
