Central Wyoming College Rustlers Volleyball Team Gears Up for a Promising Season
Riverton, WY— The Central Wyoming College Rustlers are poised for an exciting volleyball season under the guidance of Head Coach Kim Davis, who enters her third season with a career record of 28-33. The team, having finished the previous season with a solid 17-12 overall record and 7-5 in conference play, is looking to build on their accomplishments, including a first-round playoff win.
The Rustlers' schedule kicks off with challenging scrimmages and tournaments in August, starting with back-to-back scrimmages against Otero College and Northeastern Junior College on August 16th, followed by a series of games at the Arizona Western Tournament. September will see the Rustlers host a major event, the Central Wyoming Volleyball Invitational, from September 11th through 13th, a highlight for the home crowd at the Rustler Gymnasium in Riverton, WY.
Under Coach Davis's leadership, the team is focused on unity and higher performance goals. "This season, we're setting the bar higher. We've been putting in the work not just as individual athletes, but as a team committed to one another. If we stay connected, support each other, and play with heart, we're going to accomplish something special together," said Coach Davis, emphasizing the team spirit.
Key returning players include Hallie Reeder, a standout at the Region 9 All-Tournament; Presley Ryan, who earned 2nd Team All-Region 9 honors; and Laina Whitney, both the 1st Team All-Region 9 and Freshman of the Year. The new roster also features promising talent, including freshman Kyndal McFadden from Lander Valley High School, positioned to help fill the void left by significant players like Khloe Hobson and Kaela Small, who graduated last season.
The Rustlers aim to leverage their solid mix of experienced returners and energetic newcomers as they face a tough schedule but with high hopes of advancing well beyond the previous season's playoff performance.
