The Rustler Volleyball Team had a good weekend going 2-1 in Sheridan. They took on Dawson Community College, Miles Community College and Sheridan Community College. The Rustlers came out strong in the first match against Miles defeating them in three sets with sores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-14. Highlights of the game included nine service aces and six blocks. The Rustlers then defeated Dawson Community College in three by scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-23. Sophomore, Kayla Coles, led the way with 11 kills and no errors, hitting an incredible .524 hitting percentage. Standout Freshman, Rylee Burmester from Star Valley, Wyoming had a solid game with 11 kills. This was an exciting game, as both teams fought point by point with the Rustlers coming out on top at the end. "It was a good team effort which included Kassi Falslev, Brooke Thompson and Alyssa Barkhurst all having amazing receive passes which kept our offense strong," said Coach Gallard.
The Rustlers struggled on Saturday against Sheridan, loosing in three straight sets. Central started off timid and Sheridan kept the Rustlers in single digits until the end of the first and second set, as they lost 14-25 and 16-25. The Rustlers struggled in the third set, but improved finishing the set, 21-25. 'We lost in three only to teach us a true lesson in focus and determination for the future," said Coach Gallard.
